The Toshka 4 High Voltage Grid Connection Project

The Toshka 4 High Voltage Grid Connection Project – 220 kV was initiated to enhance the electricity infrastructure in Toshka, Egypt, by constructing an 80 km overhead transmission line that connects the city to the national grid. Commissioned by the Electricity Company and executed by Power Factor in 2022, the project was completed within 12 months with a total investment of EGP 250 million.
The scope of work encompassed the installation of high-voltage transmission towers, the implementation of electrical interconnections between transformers, and the ensuring of safe and stable network operation while adhering to the highest technical standards. The project plays a pivotal role in strengthening the electricity network, improving power stability, and meeting the growing energy demands of agricultural, industrial, and development projects in the region. Additionally, it contributes to reducing energy losses and enhancing network efficiency, ultimately providing a reliable and sustainable power supply that supports investment and economic development in southern Egypt.
